Given the need for mapping and monitoring of large areas such as river basins, the normalized difference vegetation index - NDVI and normalized difference water index - NDWI have been widely used for evaluate the vigor of the vegetation cover and check the water surface conditions, respectively for such parameters related to water stress can be monitored and able to detect and / or separate successfully targets composed of different materials such as water, buildings, vegetation and bare soil. The main objective of the study was the calculation of radiometric index weighted land use, application pixel classification techniques combining data from the use and occupation from the digital image classification. Satellite images were used Landsat-8 and GIS ArcGIS 10.3 for examination. The NDVI and NDWI generated contrasts of its land use, highlighting different targets that have water volume and surface characteristics of the environment, thus generating a mapping based on the identifier accuracy. The result of NDVI was a map with gradual transitions between the use and occupation classes, indicating various stages of development and even degradation. The NDVI showed qualitatively satisfactory, showing mainly vegetations with high vegetative vigor. NDWI already assisted in the evaluation and understanding of the behavior of the targets in the studied basin, making it possible to observe great emphasis on the areas of water bodies, irrigated agriculture and tree-sized vegetation of high vigor and higher humidity values.
